Hire the team that builds its own software products.

Kalvi Software is a US-based product studio. Companies hire us to design, build and run custom software products, from first prototype to a platform their customers pay for. We make EdisonOS, the test-prep platform used by 200+ education businesses, and we bring that operating experience to every product we build for someone else: deepest in education, now building for medical education and health care, and ready for other regulated markets.

Three ways to hire us

Whether you're starting from a napkin sketch or a ten-year-old codebase, you get a product team that owns the outcome, not a bench of developers billing by the hour.

Build a new product

From idea to a product customers pay for. We run discovery, design, engineering and launch as one accountable team.

  • Product discovery and validation
  • UX and interface design
  • Web, mobile and API engineering
  • Launch, analytics and iteration

Add AI that does real work

Agents and assistants that take tasks off people's plates, grounded in your data and built with a human kept accountable.

  • AI agents for workflows and support
  • Document, PDF and content extraction
  • Retrieval over your own knowledge base
  • Evaluation, guardrails and monitoring

Modernise and scale what you have

Replatform ageing systems, make them multi-tenant and white-label ready, and get them through security audits.

  • Replatforming and migration
  • Multi-tenant and white-label architecture
  • Integrations: SSO, LMS, EHR, payments
  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 readiness

Deepest in education. Expanding into health.

Edtech taught us to build for learners, instructors and institutions at once, under the privacy and reliability bar that comes with serving minors. Medical education needs exactly that, and it's our bridge into health care products more broadly.

Education technology

Assessment engines, adaptive study plans, tutor and parent workflows, question banks tagged by skill and difficulty, district-grade data privacy. We've built and operated all of it at scale for learning centers, tutoring companies, nonprofits and school districts in the US and beyond.

Assessment and scoring Adaptive study plans AI tutoring agents White-label platforms LMS and SIS integrations Student data privacy

Medical education and clinical training

Board and licensing exam prep, question banks and case-based assessment, competency tracking, CME and credentialing workflows, simulation and OSCE scoring. The same mastery-and-measurement engine we run for high-stakes school exams, applied to the exams and skills that gate a clinical career.

Health care products

Patient and provider portals, care-plan and adherence workflows, intake and triage assistants, clinician-facing dashboards. Built with HIPAA-aware architecture, audit trails and role-based access from day one, whether or not there's a learning angle.

Other regulated and multi-stakeholder markets

Fintech and compliance tooling, vertical SaaS for franchise and membership businesses, anything where many parties touch sensitive data and the product has a long life.

Not sure it fits?

If it involves many stakeholders, sensitive data and a long product life, it probably does. Ask us.

Our flagship product

EdisonOS: the operating system for test prep

EdisonOS is the platform tutoring companies, learning centers, nonprofits and school districts use to run Digital SAT, ACT, PSAT, AP, SHSAT and 11+ programs under their own brand. We built it, we sell it, and we run it every day.

  • Full-length and sectional tests with instant scoring and question-level review
  • Diagnostic to study plan to assigned tutor hours, in one flow
  • A bank of 8,000+ questions, every one tagged by skill and difficulty
  • Parent-facing progress reports and tutor dashboards
  • AI question extraction from PDFs, with review and study-plan agents in beta

How an engagement runs

This is the same operating rhythm we run EdisonOS on: talk to real users before designing, design before building, ship every week, and let one person own each decision.

Week 1–2

Discovery

Short calls with the people who will actually use the product, usually ten of them, before we draw a screen. We map users, workflows, data and constraints, then agree on the smallest version worth shipping.

Week 3 onward

Design, then build

Daily design reviews, one screen at a time, with a named decision-maker so nothing stalls. Engineering builds only from finalised screens, and a release goes out every week.

Before launch

Harden

Security review, performance testing, data privacy checks and the documentation your customers' auditors will ask for. We run the same checks on our own product.

After launch

Run and grow

Launch is the first release, not the last. We stay on to operate, measure and improve, or hand over cleanly to your team with everything they need.

What we believe about building software

These aren't aspirations. Each one is a rule we learned the hard way while building our own product, and we hold ourselves to it on yours.

Simple ships. Complex stalls.

We have built the feature-rich version before and watched users ignore it. Now every first release is cut down to the two or three things that prove the idea, and the rest waits until adoption earns it.

Talk to users before you draw anything.

A week of ten-minute calls with real users beats a month of internal debate. Our product team validates assumptions with customers before a screen is designed, and we do the same for clients.

Protect engineering from low-value work.

Every request is triaged, researched and justified before it reaches a developer. Anything estimated at more than a month gets challenged. Good engineers are the scarcest thing in a product; we don't spend them on maybes.

Quality over inflated numbers.

We spent months testing AI-generated test questions and then stopped: they were measurably worse than expert-written ones. We would rather ship a smaller library that is right than a bigger one that isn't, and that goes for features too.

AI should amplify people, not replace them.

The best AI we have built helps a tutor serve a thousand students instead of ten, with a human still accountable for each one. That's the test we apply to every agent, in education or anywhere else.

Honesty over a carefully worded email.

When a timeline slips or a commitment turns out to be wrong, you hear it from us first, plainly, with what we're doing about it. We would rather pause a deal than start one we can't fully deliver.

DM

"We build software products because we like watching people use them. EdisonOS exists because tutors kept asking us for things no platform did properly, and we couldn't stop ourselves from building them. That's the energy we bring to a client's product: we get as invested in the thing working as you are, and we're not comfortable until real users are getting value from it."

Built to pass the questions enterprise buyers ask

Schools, districts and health systems buy carefully. We build so the security questionnaire is the easy part.

ISO 27001 and SOC 2 Type II

Certification in progress for Kalvi Software Inc. and EdisonOS, with an independent audit partner. We bring the same controls to products we build for you.

Independent penetration testing

Our platform undergoes external vulnerability assessment and penetration testing, and we design client products to pass the same.

Student and patient data, handled properly

Data privacy agreements, role-based access, audit logs and encryption are defaults, not add-ons. See our public security posture.

One team, two companies

Kalvi Software Inc. is a Delaware company and the home of EdisonOS and our US client work. Its sister company, TeachEdison Solutions in India, has built custom software for education businesses since 2015 and runs our engineering and delivery. The same three founders lead both.

That gives clients a US contracting entity and senior attention in US business hours, with a fifteen-person team of designers, engineers and product managers delivering around the clock. We run our own product at scale, which is why we're comfortable taking responsibility for yours.
